I've been seeing a general interest by people in the thread for some sort of action and an overall frustration at a lack thereof. I also see a lot of usage of this thread for both seeking some sort of advice / resource or venting about experiences.
So I'm going to start a website! At first I'll be developing out a blogging side to the site where I'll be focusing on highlighting people's struggles in the work force and in small businesses. As the site progresses I'd like to incorporate blog posts and other resources for providing information about navigating the work force, what are and how to get involved in unions, what are and how to get involved in cooperatives, how to manage finances in a practical manner, how to manage small businesses, and some other topics here and there relating to work culture and the economy.
Ultimately I'd like for this website to evolve into a central resource for workers and small business owners to exchange information in a way that helps make the market better for everyone. I'm considering creating some pages for polling, especially because I'm interested in some of the demographics of the antiwork thread. These places could also be used for voting on various matters relating to the website itself, like upcoming changes or desired blog / resource content.
I'm still working on a catchy name for everything and I'm still drafting up a couple articles (I refuse to go live with production without being ready ever again) so this post isn't some sort of self promoting (yet). It IS a chance for some early feedback, though! What would this thread want to see from such a website? What other websites would you suggest linking users to for more resources? Heck, what are possible concerns you may have because I'm not seeing something you consider obvious? If there's a particular story you want me to write about for you, I encourage you to share because I'm hoping to write about more than just me; I already know my story! I'm all ears and look forward to your input!
