Nightmare day. My company announced we would be getting laid off, then announced the client changed their mind and now wants to retain us in the 11th hour. So much for my summer of unemployment.

My job is a difficult customer service gig in a call center. We were told we’d be laid off 2 months ago, but today they announced the client screwed up and determined they still needed us. I’ve been counting the MINUTES til the end of this and now I’m devastated. They aren’t even offering a bump in pay for those continuing. I made plans and spent PTO based around this knowledge and am LIVID. Its hard to imagine management won’t be giving themselves a raise on this. I mean, it has got to be expensive for them to retain us, given the client has no leverage and royally screwed up. Just wanted to bitch. Happy Friday.
