So basically I am in college and just moved back to my hometown which is an hour and 30 min away from the college town. I recently got a student worker position at a company in the college town, with the verbal agreement early on that I would be allowed to work remote 1/2 days each week in the summer since it’s a 3 hour round trip each time I have to work in office (Also since it is a student position I am only allowed to work up to 20 hrs/week). However, now they are not asking but telling me I have to work 3 days a week in office instead of being able to work remote, and That is 9 hours a week on top of 20 hours working that I would be stuck in the car driving back and forth. My parents are really mad because I am using their car to do this, and it is racking up the miles on their car. Is there any way of telling/asking them to find a way to work at least one day remote? I feel like I’m stuck between my boss and my parents and I really just needed a simple part time job as a college student.
