A little bit ago I was working, normally I do afternoons until almost midnight. Due to medical issues including IBS and a weak bladder, I find myself heading to the bathroom fairly regularly. I am also autistic so I struggle with social cues. I’ve noticed for the past month that I’m being monitored closely at night by a coworker. Today when I came out of the bathroom and back to the shop floor, one of my coworkers (who I don’t even know the name of) asked me where I was, when I replied I was just using the bathroom, he said I go every 10 minutes and I need to tell someone. This is obviously untrue, it is far from every 10 minutes, and I don’t feel it is anyone’s business if I need to use the bathroom, especially if I can’t even find anyone. He continued to act aggressively, so I asked his name. He refused and walked off. I walked off too, before muttering to myself ‘asshole’. I heard a shouting ‘what did you say’ and suddenly he’s rushing up to me and getting in my face looking like he’s about to start a fight. Suddenly another coworker comes over to get him to back off, this coworker is the one who is constantly monitoring me. She tells me what I said was out of line, not even addressing that her friend (a grown man) just tried to physically assault me, so I start recording incase I need a defence.
During the night shift at the supermarket in question, I have noticed there is a very obvious in group, this is also something I found while browsing the internet, multiple complaints of the company treatment during the night shift.
Please help, I don’t know what to do now and I’m not sure I feel safe there anymore.
