CONTEXT.
I work in an NDIS provider in Western Australia. I have never met the Director/owner but I've met her husband who acts like the Director and does the pay runs(sorta) but keeps saying he's not the Director.
I have a branch Manager who doesn't want to be listed as part of the organisation but keeps meddling with the business as he js a secret stake holder who workes for another NDIS provider.
THEY RUN A SHITSHOW.
I along with all the other staff get paid irregulary instead of a specific date every 2 weeks.
I don't even know which clients are on board and which are not, when asked, I get vague answers.
I have never met our two main staff and their documents are missing because the previous HR did not keep their documents and did not maintain any contracts of employments with them, they've simply been working via mutual verbal agreement.
I am expected by the “Branch Manager” to sit and work in an office without any internet connection, connection which was promised 2 months ago but I am expected to work from the office via my own mobile hotspot. Whenever I work from home they get upset because “you are paid to be in the office and work from there”, everything I ask about internet they just brush it off with “it will be done soon”. I had already spoken to the “Dirsctors” husband prior in the “Branch managers” presence about working from home who was cool with it, the branch manager didn't say a word and was excited about in his words “trying to snatch this sexy whyte lady soon, eh!”
When I ask about office essentials, I am asked about how many support works I have on board and ready to work. In the prior month I hired 15 new support workers because he asked me to as he said she was bringing on new clients with long hours. 3 weeks go by and yet no word. The staff were not keen on working with us since we didn't provide any work and when asked about their availability, they said she were busy or they'd get back but never did(which I completely understand). I ended up looking like an idiot and felt embarrassed. The “Branch manager” asked me on the 4th week if I can get 5 people the next day at 9 am to do a meet and greet with a potential client so I told him the situation but he gets upsef and tells me I am not doing my job and questioned what i was doing and why i was being paid. I told him that I was not a slave owner.
The company barely has 3 clients I think, so it's somehow scraping by.
The “Directors” husband vanishes when we ask him hard and real questions when pay is late or when serious investors bought into his bullshit and have come with contract papers(which was such embarrassing as I was the only one in the office) or when his accountant questions his suspicious spending.
Audit is in the next 4 days and today they brought in furniture, did I mention I was working in an office with only a few empty tables and 3 chairs. I keep the office clean and tidy since I'm there mostly anyway. So audit is in the next 4 days and they brought in furniture, INTERNET CONNECTION and some new employees out of thin air for the audit LOL.
I've been applying for other government jobs and plan to quit ASAP. I'm only sticking around as long as possible because my resume looks strong because I have a title that looks kinda impressive when reading my resume. Once I get a green signal, I'm goanna MQueen out.
This is the second NDIS company I'll be leaving as another prior company was doing similar stuff too and I left because of now toxic the environment was(my “branch manager” was working with me there lol)
I don't want to sound racist but after this I've promised myself that I'll never do business with any one who sits super duper comfortably at a formal meeting or any one who is from Kenya. Some are nice to be around but when doing business with them I've found them to be two faced and cunning individuals who are happy to make deals behind your back for a few bucks. Sorry for the long post, had to get it off my chest.
