Work has a policy where they can change the schedule as long as I’m given at least 24 hours notice

Isn’t that barely any time? All the time I’m having to cancel plans because of their last minute schedule changes. I’m calling them “last minute” because the schedule comes out 3 weeks in advance. Sounds nice, but it’s always changing and apparently ok as long as I have 24 hours notice? How are they not factoring in plans people make? What’s the point of the schedule being posted so far in advance then? As an example. I’m supposed to have Friday the 26th off, I could plan anything for that day now. How in the world would it make sense if Thursday the 25th I get a call in the morning saying Friday I’m now 12pm-9pm? If they let me know in the morning while I was there, that would be over 24 hours notice Anyone else dealing with crazy schedule issues like this? How can someone say they have…

How are they not factoring in plans people make? What’s the point of the schedule being posted so far in advance then?

How can someone say they have plans, if their policy is just at least 24 hours notice then it’s too bad for you/nothing you can do?
