My works HR team had put peoples salary, visa and more personal information into a folder system that could be viewed by anyone in the company with out knowing. I found this a check to see what people in similar roles were making compared to myself but also did the right thing by reporting this to HR. Now HR is trying to get myself in trouble for looking into folder that anyone could have looked into but was removed as soon as I let them know of the issues. Should I really be getting into shit for looking a public documents?
