I have a bachelor's in biology (which I now know is a worthless degree) and nothing else. I have been considering going into MLS. I currently work in a toxicology lab for a small pain clinic. I've been there 7 months now and have experience working with the LC/MS there.
When I started in this lab and the supervisor who had been there a long time was leaving. She trained me one on one for a month. She only found someone to replace her the final week and I was expected to train him. This guy had no relevant experience. I had to do all the lab work for the 4 ish months he was there. A couple months ago he left and a new supervisor came in. This woman is a certified medical technician who is in her 60's and has lots of experience. She has been very active in the lab unlike the last guy. The past week it has become extremely uncomfortable working with her. There are a lot of things that I know how to do that she doesn't and she has been insecure about that. She accused me of trying to make her look bad and steal her job.
I don't like this job. I only took it because I wanted something mindless and repetitive to do while I figured out what I want to do with my life. But this job has gotten to be very demanding. I left early without saying anything today, I was so overwhelmed.
