No parental leave for a “seasonal” employee working for two years

LSS, the company I work for offers a “generous” 14 week paid leave for employees working at least one year. I’ve been working at the company for two years, and upon filing for my leave which I’ll be taking next month, find out I may not be eligible because apparently I’m still considered a “seasonal” employee, even though three months ago I was given a policy that indicated leave would be paid for by the company if it wasn’t provided by my state (it’s not.) I’ve been told they will try to work with me since the company is based in New Jersey, so I may be considered a NJ employee where leave is paid for by state, but I don’t have high hopes and an already seeing where this is going to go.
