So I got hired as FOH staff for a bar I adore, I’m told last Wednesday Saturday (earlier today) and Sunday are my training shifts. Future shifts TBD. First shift went great lots of positive feedback, todays second training shift was just 12-5 which was pretty slow. Tomorrow is supposed to be a call time of “1pm-4pm depending on how busy” until walking out the bar today I was told that if it’s super super dead during an expected busy day they will just not have me come In because “I’m all staffed up”
Here are my issues
1) I’m training / helping not sharing any tip pools why does my extra body matter, especially if I stay out the way?
2)the owner and GM that decided he might cut me from Sunday don’t seem to be communicating at all, I was hired by owner.
3)am I wrong to be upset and feel like I’m obligated for a 3rd paid training shift regardless of busy slow staffed up or not ??
