I was a house manager at a sober living facility and was fired today due to bullshit reasons and nepotism. I can honestly say I did everything that was asked of me and more. I lost my job and my housing with absolutely zero notice given. This company was treating a client who was family of the owners, who I had the misfortune to house manage the house she was living in. Based off the fact that I enforced the rules equally and didn’t give her special permission to do whatever she so pleases, she told them whatever she needed to to get me fired. I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to get a severance pay or literally anything. I will not take this quietly. I am in California, and places need to give you 30 day notice at least before they kick you out of housing. Idk what the rules are regarding house managing positions, however. Does anyone have any advice on the legality of this situation and anything I can do to become a pain in their ass and let my presence be known? I am now homeless and jobless and have bills that need to be taken care of. I’m sorry if this isn’t the right place, but I just have no idea what to do from here
