Okay firstly, fuck probation periods. The fact that an employer can terminate your employment for any reason at all within your probationary period is insane.
Today, I was sat down in the middle of the day to talk to 2 members of management. I found it sus because one of these guys is a quiet person and never speaks to me.
I walked in and I’m told, I’m a very quick chat, that my probationary period will cease effective immediately. I was escorted to my desk to clean everything out and escorted out of the building. The whole thing happened in 5 minutes. The only reason I was given was “the company is moving in a direction that no longer supports your career ambitions”.
I’m in shock. There was nothing to do with my performance or behaviour as to why I was let go. Just gone.
I know I’m venting, but I’ve built my life around this job since I started and in an instant I’m gone. This is bullshit. Fuck the corporate world.
