i work at a private k-12 art school and my director blatantly went against what i asked twice. when i was hired i was very clear i only wanted to teach 6-12 grade. its personal preference, nothing against small kids i just am not the right person to teach them. director schedules me for a teen class as my first class, it went great! then he scheduled me for a 3-5th grade. i didn’t say anything, which IS my fault. then, he asks if i can take a week for someone who walked out. again, my fault for not asking what age range it was, but i said okay. he sent me the info and it was fucking k-2. i was SO pissed. i rly need advice. i’m in a place financially where leaving and being out of work for a few weeks will not hurt me. i feel bad though because apparently this place has high turnover and they can’t keep teachers, so i feel obligated to go.
