Hi, I hate my job. Honestly, I’m burnt out and i’ve been doing the job for a long time, so it’s pretty easy for me. It just doesn’t keep me engaged. The workplace has massively changed, and we even had to do layoffs a few months ago.
I find myself not working, and spending time on social media, Reddit, or other side tasks at work that aren’t important. We are remote, so it makes it easy to not get caught, but it will eventually get caught because of how my job works. I procrastinated so much today that now I feel guilty and I’m going to work until 7pm just to get some need to do things done. How do I stay focused during the day?
Editing to add: I’ve been remote for years and haven’t had this issue previously. While I’m typing that I think I’m realizing that I also just don’t feel very clear on the expectations, which makes it harder because I’m not working toward anything.
