You want to work in the laboratory? Sure, but you need to work in manufacturing first.

Hi! I have recently graduate in Master's degree of Chemistry of Natural Substances, my Bachelor's degree is in Chemistry of Foodstuffs. I am currently seeking a job, preferebly a laboratory one. I recently applied for (among others) lab worker in localy company which manufactures diet supplements (vitamin fizzy tablets, vitamin, minerals,…) and fruit drinks for kids.
Today I got a call from HR, telling me that in order to work in a laboratory, they need me to work in manufacturing first, 2 months in supplements and 2 months in drinks department. Tbh, I was kinda surprised, but i still agreed on personal meeting.
My main issue is that (apart from I haven't studied for 5 years to work in manufacturing) in my country there is 3 months trial period for both employer and employee, and by working 4 months on different position, i would loose this right.
I am planning to ask about the exact way it will be stated in the contract. I will also ask for lab worker salary and if it will be possible to shorten the time in manufacturing departments and also sooner promotion to R&D.
What do you think about all of this, what would you do in my place and what should I ask/demand?
