Antiwork

Today, my (36) son (9) tore a dollar bill into a dozen pieces. After I confronted him and asked why, he told me that it’s because he hates money, and wishes that it never existed. After talking to him more, it appears that he blames money for the fact that I have to work two jobs.

I work about 10 hours a day in operations for a startup and another 8 hours each day as an independent contractor. Most days I work until I can't keep my eyes open. I work hard so that my family can have a good life but, my family is watching me get stressed out. I do my best to not let them see it, but this week has been harder than others. I really thought I was doing a better job of leaving the stress at work. I most certainly was not expecting my son to rip up money.. It was only a dollar but, I don't know what to do here.. I work hard, but he's right.. I wish that providing for my family wasn't preventing me from spending time with them..
