Fast tracked for role, urgent interview scheduled, hiring manager is a no show.

As pretty much stated in the title, I was recruited for a network construction manager/quality and compliance manager role with a major company. There was much excitement over my skill-set, knowledge base and vast comprehensive experience. I was fast tracked for the role and an interview was scheduled with great urgency and alacrity. I have been out of work since December of 2021. This job would solve all of my family's problems quite swiftly. I am eager to get back in the game and start earning income. The recruiter is pumped and passionate. The account manager is deeply invested in my landing this role. Even the hiring manager was impressed and excited.

The interview is scheduled via Teams and I am on-deck 5 minutes before the interview is to start.

Ten minutes elapse and no hiring manager. I contact the account manager and ask her to reach out to the hiring manager. She does, to no avail. Twenty minutes turn to thirty and the account manager is gushing with apologies, promising to reschedule et al. The hiring manager is no-show.

I acknowledge that things happen and emergencies arise. Still, if the roles were swapped, I'm more than sure such would not be tolerated. A text message to the account manager of the recruiting company would have nice and very professional. Even nicer would have been for the hiring manager to either have his boss cover or a trusted subordinate get delegated the task of performing the interview. Nope. Just no-show.

Allegedly, the interview is rescheduled for tomorrow but I have yet to receive an invite and link. SMFH. Ironically, management wonders why the rank and file employees hate them so much. Gosh, I wonder. Will that mystery ever get solved?

I thank all for providing me a place to vent my rage.
