So, on June 9th, I started working at a gas station just outside of town. It was already a bit sketchy on my first day because they didn’t tell me which gas station it would be (they’re a chain and there are two just a few miles apart from each other so I went to the one I applied to only to be told I was supposed to be at the other gas station). It has been almost a month now since I’ve been employed here and I still have not gotten my first paycheck. When I brought up the fact that all of my coworkers were paid except for me, she got pissy and said that it was a problem with my bank and not her problem. That was about two weeks ago, and have contacted my bank asking about it only to be told there was no dd from the company that runs the gas station on my account nor had they even sent it off. My manager was just promoted to that position the week that I started working there, and the power has gone to her head. She talks to employees like they’re stupid little kids and has tried to get on my ass for not doing something right when I was in the process of doing it the correct way. For example, sh got on my ass about not marking bills as I was putting the counterfeit detector back after marking a 100$ bill. I have not been told what my expected check would be worth,and I was not told by the company that they would hold my first paycheck for a month. This was not told to me verbally or in writing. I have talked with coworkers about it and was told that they’ll hold your paycheck for no reason for at least a month, and even when you do get it the paycheck most likely isn’t for the actual hours you did for the past 2 weeks. The last payday that hit, I was told by a coworker that the pay period for her paycheck was from May 29-June 11.
