Planning to leave job after 3 months – advice?

I quite recently started a new job as a sustainability consultant at a very small company (under 30 employees). After the 1st week I had the gut feeling that the workplace is very toxic. I have been at the job 3 months now and any thought I get regarding leaving gets me very excited. I struggled with my mental health for a couple years, and only recently started feeling much better again – however, I feel that this job has the potential to affect that. Some things that bother me the most are – The owners are always hovering and micromanaging around the office, they also seem to ignore when the staff act in a rude way towards the new joiners or gossip/bad-mouth others/clients.

There is no HR department, and i've already witnessed a couple situations which are low-key seeming slightly illegal to me (though I'm sure they would argue it is a grey area)… I also had absolutely 0 training, and i'm not alone as the others who joined with me did not get any training either. The ceo's come off very two-faced and I feel uncomfortable when they talk to me. There is also a very high turn-over rate, and the company fires anyone who shows any sign of risk to the company. It seems that the owners try to promote a 'we are a family here' mentality… I have worked at other companies and now appreciate how great the work culture was previously, they were medium/big companies. I don't want to work for these people and that feeling has only increased.

My probation period ends soon and I want out – I am currently preparing my letter of resignation and looking for other jobs. I am in my 20s and have quite a lot of skills to offer so I hope finding a job, even if part-time at first, won't be too hard – i'm also not too picky and wouldn't mind doing some cafe work whilst I look for something better for me. I'll also mention that I live in a vibrant busy city so there seem to be a lot of opportunities.

Have you ever left a company after a short time with no back-up? Did you regret it? Any stories will be appreciated.
