Thankfully, I left this job years ago. But I wanted to share my experience. So it was Thanksgiving and I had worked the day before Thanksgiving. I had been visiting my family when I got a text.
They were asking me if I knew where the key was for the paper dispenser in the bathroom. The one for refilling the paper to dry your hands with.
Anyway, I tell them I am three hours away. They still want it. So I drive all the way there to return it. (It was my mistake I took it home, usually didn't happen.)
They didn't even say “thanks!”
And I brought up, again, how I had to cut short the time with my family and how far I had to drive to get there. No one cared.
They then scheduled me for Christmas eve! I quit shortly after. Hated that job. I have other stories involving a coworker being poisoned, refusals for women to go to the bathroom when it's slow to change their tampon, toxic coworkers, a guy peeing in the back where the drain is for mop water (with No repercussions for the man) and more!
So glad I left that job!
