I noticed that the more I show or pretend wealth on the interview, and the more laidback I am towards the possibility I won't get hired by them at all, the more equal the atmosphere gets. I will explain. Whether you do or don't have a house out of the city, mention it briefly if conversation steers that way. Have some expensive ass clothes? Put it on if you feel like it. They say you might not be perfect fit? Say “that's too cool, that's the least bad thing that could have possibly happened”, and flick it off your shoulder like a fly. They answer any really important question weirdly or just in a way that doesn't fit to you? Be the first one to say “it's all good, bye”. All this sets tone that you are 1) absolutely stable financially and they cannot sway you like some peasant and “blackmail” you through financial weakness. 2) you have been through a lot and have experience and their decline of job is the least obstacle you've ever experienced. 3) whenever you push someone away, if they invested at least a bit of time and energy into you, there's possibility they're gonna want you more after this. This has leveled the tables on many interviews for me and shifted more power towards me when dealing with hostile, ruthless enemies at work. Hope it helped to a few people.
