So my husband is an electrical apprentice. It's no surprise that some trade companies treat their employees like dirt.
Well my husband finally jumped the burning ship. He is amazed at the benefits, pay, and procedures of working at union compared to his previous job. They are doubling his pay, paying for his insurance, letting him work whenever he wants. The union also doesn't let him work on live panels which was shocking to him.
The last company he worked for required him to do many dangerous tasks. Which included working on live panels. They also hate the union and will fire anyone on the spot who tries to put in their two week notice. They don't want employees of the union to spread the word. They have lost at least 10+ employees to the union so far this year.
Oh and the company is going under financially anyways. I'm so happy for him.
