My name is Megan Gorges, and I’m a PhD candidate studying organizational behavior at Harvard Business School. I’m conducting research to understand people’s experiences as they make voluntary career changes to move from higher to lower work intensity or lower time commitment, and particularly when they are trying to make work a less central part of their life and seek meaning and connection outside work.

If this sounds like you, I would be very interested in interviewing you! Participating in this study would involve three zoom / phone interviews over the course of the next year, each approx. 1.5 hours. During the interviews, I would ask you questions about your career journey, how you decided to change your approach to work, and your conversations with other people about your experiences.

I would also hope to interview two people who are close to you in your personal life who you talk with most often about your career change (e.g., romantic partner, family member, friend) to understand their perspective on your experiences. I would hope to interview them (one-on-one) three times over the course of the next year, each approx. 1 hour.

Please note: I cannot offer any compensation for participating in the study.

I understand participating in the study is a significant commitment, but I believe that following you over the course of a year and talking with those close to you will yield very interesting and valuable research findings.

Please reply here, DM me, or email me at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) if you are interested in participating!
