I been crying all day from the news after my MRI my L5 is shot. There's no fixing it all i can do is physical therapy and try to push the disc back in to stop the pain of the disc pushing on my nerves. I was working 10-12 hours days for a year, did all the heavy lifting, because everyone at work is double my age, so i was responsible for the all heavy lifting. When i got injured i was “too young” to be tired, having aches and pain especially when it was towards my back i am “too young” to be having issues. HR gave me a week off and said i should be fine because once again “too young” for back problems. it's been 8 months… i told my coworkers the news their responses?
“looks like you have to find work somewhere else”
“i'm sure it's a mistake you're too young for back problems, i'm twice your age i have the real back problems here you're just trying to get away from work”
“well good thing you're young you can find something in technology”
“you want a tampon too? just man up like we all do we all have pains and aches you're too young to be complaining about that”
“no more golf huh?”
I'm also union, which honestly it's a joke too they befriend HR and keep backing them up defending their ignorance..
i hope someone “too young” reads this and make sure you do not give up your back for them like i did and currently paying the price.
