TL;DR wage theft in Colorado. Got late fee on bill because I wasn't paid. Who pays that?
I'm young and have never been wage thefted before. I don't know what I'm doing yet. I worked at Dunkin and had an issue with the manager because she didn't want us using soap because it cost too much (among other things,) so I quit and got a job marketing instead.
The GM that hired me quit the day before I started, she told me I should be on the first payroll but my check didn't show up on pay day, which wasn't a big deal since I don't know anyone that gets their first check on time. The GM that came in after her was the one that gave me issues and wouldn't let us use cleaning products. She made comments on my height and screamed at my coworkers, and I wasn't going to work for someone that puts peoples health at risk so I quit. That GM got fired and now there's a third one.
I worked for 23 hours, this week when my check came in I saw that I was only paid for 5. I tried calling the store but they were too busy to talk to me, so I got the AGMs number through an ex coworker and told her what the problem was. She said GM #2 didn't put anyones hours in, so we all got shorted.
I was able to pay half my bill but still got a late fee. What do I do? Does Dunkin have to pay that, or is it on me? It seems unfair that I have to wait a month and a half for my paycheck and pay any late fees.
Before you tell me to hire a lawyer, I'm poor and just got shorted on my check. I can't.
