Long story short, I went on a paid, approved vacation. Upon returning I was fired. Initially the sales manager said they were letting me go for being unhappy. This sounded ridiculous since everyone there is unhappy. So, I called the President of the company to get clarification. I asked if it was because of my vacation, he said yes. They are protesting my unemployment claim stating misconduct for all kinds of shit not ever mentioned to me or anything I've ever been disciplined for.
Little bit of back story/ I was their top producing sales rep for 3 1/2 years. Stellar reputation in the industry (niche), have more knowledge than current management and made $100k in 2021. There is no employee handbook stating any policies about vacation.
I have hired an attorney that took my case on a contingency basis for age and disability discrimination.
This is what my hard work, loyalty and dedication to my job and the industry got me. Fired by 20 somethings that couldn't have done my job if their lives depended on it.
Currently job searching but my 10 plus years of sales experience is getting me nowhere. Any advice?
