Alright, so I am a nurse at a large corporation in Ohio, and I am also pregnant. I had two bouts of bleeding/contractions in which my doctor wrote me off work for a week each time- two weeks total. My boss told me that I needed to get FMLA paperwork filled out to cover my job- I did and it was accepted, no big deal. Well then, as I work with COVID patients, I got COVID. I was to be off, per my employers policy, for 5 days, which luckily two of those days were weekend hours and I’m not scheduled Saturday or sundays. However, the company I work for used all of my paid time off to cover ALL of these leaves. So obviously, I have zero hours of paid time off. Well, my husband is in the military and he is moving home finally AFTER FOUR YEARS 🤩🤩🤩 and flies in on May 16th. I let my boss know that I would need to leave work to pick him up and bring him home and it was denied because I don’t have any paid time off. I’m just at a loss because I’m pregnant, going to appointments, and have had complications, and all of that gets taken from my time off. Then I get COVID, and that’s taken from my time off too. So now what? Tell my husband to get an Uber to take him home an hour away? Like yay!!! Four years and you’re coming home for good!!! But unfortunately, I can’t come pick you up because I almost miscarried our baby twice and had to use my time off! Love you!! WHAT THE FUCK? Am I being unreasonable or what?
Edit: I’m so frustrated I want to put my notice in, but my husband doesn’t have a job lined up and we’ve got bills to pay 🙁
