So I started a new job in the beginning of February. It’s an office job 8-5, 5x a week. Essentially I’d be working customer service over the phone however they begin you out working on “projects” at this job. These projects are monotonous, highly repetitive tasks (going into a computer system and updating hundreds of addresses) which takes hours upon hours to complete. After about 7 weeks I began to slow down. I spend all day not communicating with coworkers and completing these projects. I went to my manager to talk about when I’d start my role and acknowledged that I had slowed down on these projects. His response was that he didn’t trust me to do the job because of my slow effort on these projects. He suggested I change positions in the company. Isn’t it ridiculous this job structure?! I’m on the verge of leaving.
