Title says it all.
Applied to a dream role.
2 rounds of interviews went great with employer and client.
They were looking to place me on a project with a client.
Today they call and say the client reportedly got bad feedback about me from a specific former employer and isn't interested in moving forward. Didnt say anything else.
I said, well i think there must be a mistake, im happy to provide some references from that employer and im certain this is a misunderstanding.
No follow-up yet.
WTF
I had a great rapport with the 3 people I solely interacted with/reported to. Im fairly confident it didn't come from any of them.
Just blown away right now.
If somebody wants a reference, I'm happy to provide, but i was never asked; they went some back assward channel and im honestly feeling like its a case of mistaken identity.
It should be illegal to contact someones former employer without their permission.
Do i have any recourse
