Chef by trade. Was told, not asked, told, that I would be catering our staff party. Im also supposed to be a guest there. So I’m done. Got something else lined up. Im going to make the food, tell them to serve themselves and leave. It’s not a staff party if I’m working it. It’s just a gig and I’ll do my job, leave and cut ties with that company. Not gonna lie. Kinda angry. This is the second place I’ve worked where something like this happened. I worked at one place where the owner picked out staff he liked. Took them out to dinner at our restaurant and made the rest of the staff serve them. I told myself never again yet here I am.
