I was recently contacted by a recruiting agent. I tried to avoid the salary question as I am not sure of my roles/responsibilities for the potential opportunity. However, the recruiter asked me again and I definitely gave a lowball range (I have a hard time valuing my worth/work). The recruiter acknowledged the mid-point of my range was probably appropriate. I have an interview on Monday with the hiring manager so, of course, nothing is set in stone but I wonder if it would be considered inappropriate to try to renegotiate the salary? I assume I would have to justify it?
I'm trying not to get screwed by these companies and have learned a lot here. Thanks for any advice provided.
