Salary Negotiation – did I shoot myself in the foot?

If this is the wrong sub to ask, I definitely will remove it. However, I am not sure where/who to ask as I don't have anyone to ask. I was recently contacted by a recruiting agent. I tried to avoid the salary question as I am not sure of my roles/responsibilities for the potential opportunity. However, the recruiter asked me again and I definitely gave a lowball range (I have a hard time valuing my worth/work). The recruiter acknowledged the mid-point of my range was probably appropriate. I have an interview on Monday with the hiring manager so, of course, nothing is set in stone but I wonder if it would be considered inappropriate to try to renegotiate the salary? I assume I would have to justify it? I'm trying not to get screwed by these companies and have learned a lot here. Thanks for any advice provided.
