I started a new job 3 weeks ago. I've been working in this industry for 6 years but recently moved to one of the larger firms in the industry as a headhunter lead me to them and I got a pretty decent pay raise (not life changing money but enough to make the move).
This company requires employees in my position to be on a phone queue for 4 hours of the workday that you need to be signed into. Periodically during my four hours of queue time, I have been signing out of the queue (so that my phone doesnt ring when I'm not there) to use the bathroom. I have a pretty active metabolism so basically any time i eat I have to go.
This morning my direct manager called me into her office and showed me a report of all of the times that I have logged out of the queue since I have been working here. She wasn't mad but she also wasn't happy. I explained that I had only ever signed out to use the washroom. She told me that this was unacceptable and that I should be using the bathroom on my lunch or not during my queue time.
I literally take 5-8 minutes in the bathroom. I find this to be such a joke and am considering quitting but they do pay well here.
