I have two part time jobs. One of those jobs I work two 8.5 hour shifts (get off around 5:15) which is what I agreed to when I got hired. Today I get a text from my boss informing me she’s extending my shifts one hour making me get off around 6. No “is this okay” no “do you have prior commitments?” Nothing. Just “you start this week.” I actually DO have prior commitments (exercise classes that I’ve already payed for) and I just feel like her texting me this and not talking to me in person was extremely disrespectful of me and my time. I also just have no interest working over 9 hours at a job that’s extremely boring and I barely get a break.
