I had my performance review yesterday and while overall it was good I can’t stop thinking about something my manager said.
They drastically changed my role, requiring some pretty advanced industry certifications. We were given around 30hrs of paid time to study but each of the 2 mandatory exams recommended a minimum of 90 hours to pass.
I’ve passed one and I’m close to passing the 2nd, my last attempt I was less than 15 marks off the 80% passing grade. While she was very complimentary about my progress, she stressed that if I was really passionate about this, then I would “make room in my life” to grow my skills.
Just exhausted.
