Working from Home, Other Perspective

I come from a not-quite-developed country in Asia. I am lately having plenty of discussions with friends and relatives from back home, talking about current economy and work situations. Here in this sub, the general sentiment is that working from home is something that is truly beneficial for employees and that employers should always offer it as long as it is practical to do so. So this is another perspective on this issue. It turns out that in that country, significant number of workers see WfH in a negative way. They feel alienated and isolated, and they miss the social interactions they used to have with their coworkers. It goes as bad as employees have been seeing psychological help for depression due to WfH. So this is another perspective on this issue. It turns out that in that country, significant number of workers see WfH in a negative way. They feel alienated and isolated, and they miss the social interactions they used to have with their coworkers. Now, due to Covid, the government does not allow offices to return to WfO fully, again for those that already implemented WfH. Employers are under pressure from the employees to prepare the work spaces to be able to handle workers returning, and in the same time implementing Covid-related health measures.

Now, I am not making any judgement whether WfH is a good thing or not. I merely point out that not all workers agree with permanent WfH.
