Worked at the same company for close to 15 years and it’s unionized, good paying, had 5 weeks vacation, good benefits, all-in-all a decent place to work. I just don’t want to do it anymore and it’s getting harder and harder to go in every shift. Shift work, especially nights with a young family takes a toll on you.
I gave the company notice to try and find someone to replace me, or at least the time to figure out what to do. It was a good job, that treated me well over the years, but it was just time to move on and find something else. I even had vacation left to take, but didn’t.
