Me: I really think the unions are so important to enact change in working conditions and benefits
Dad: Ehhh I think it’s not great and they’ll go on strike for the littlest things
Me: I don’t think that’s true
Dad: agree to disagree
Me: How are employees supposed to stand up to corporations for any improvements?
Dad: they can just leave the job if they don’t like it and find something else
I just don’t understand that train of thought. The union is protecting workers and attempting to gain benefits for them. Someone who has worked at a job should just leave it if the company is corrupt and not attempt to change anything…… I just don’t get it.
