So this is my first post on this subreddit, and it's not like it's a world ender. But it's a huge pet peeve of mine that a lot of fast food joints don't offer free meals to employees. I've only worked at one place that did that, everywhere else just does 50% off or some bullshit. And like???? Really???? I've been standing on my feet all day, making food, dealing with rude customers, refilling everything, having to deal with doordash and ubereats and then you want ME to pay MY WORKPLACE for the honor of making myself a damn sandwich?!? Like, cool, whatever meager tips I might have made just got taken right out of my pocket, and right into my employer's. It's so condescending and obnoxiously unnecessary it makes me wanna scream. Like, my coworkers and I getting a meal isn't gonna break the bank, even on a slow day, so why tf do we have to pay!?! I've only been at this job for a week, and it's already driving me up the wall that I have to give them MY money.
