Red Flag Right Away

So I reached out to a restaurant owner about doing some work for them and we got to discussing the job over text. They asked for my availability and when I gave it to them they tried to get me to come in to work my first shift without ever discussing what my pay would be. That is a red flag to me and when I pressed the matter further they even seemed a bit annoyed. I offered my references dating back at least 10 years which they didn’t even take the time reach out to. They offered me an hourly rate and when I told them what I would want (only a few dollar difference) they refused to budge. I politely declined their job offer and got a snarky message hours later saying how they pay the best in the area (they don’t) and they wrongly quoted me what…
