Right now I'm on a Zoom meeting with 19 coworkers. We're interviewing an applicant as though he might actually be hired. Before the interview, we were instructed not to tell him that a hiring freeze was instituted yesterday. This interview is costing the company at least $1,000 in 20 salaries for 30 minutes. It's also heartbreaking listening to the applicant trying his best to get hired. I fucking hate this.
