I recently started a new office job that was a better fit for my career and pay. Unfortunately, my bosses have been very critical regarding knit pickiness.
The latest outside of assignments is regarding my hairstyle, i had it in a bun and was told it’s un-acceptable. I’m a male, and was told that girls are able to but i’m not. I checked the handbook and the only rules regarding hair were that it shouldn’t be wet or cover the eyes for “both men and women”.
I’m not in a rush, as my hair isnt terribly long yet, but im concerned as I plan to grow it out more and am guessing I wont be allowed to bun it up once it’s longer.
Should I contact hr before my boss, or ask with them in the future before going to hr?
