I just had conversation with someone younger than me in their late 20s and someone in their 60s and they both were haring the sentiment that it's better to take job security than to chance it by going into the job market and you don't want to be labeled a jumper in the field. Honestly I don't care about labels. I will continue to acknowledge my own value and ask for what I deserve. We have been conditioned to accept pennies. Do not let companies, managers, and their lackeys convince you that you do not deserve equitable pay.
I know we aren't all in the position to hunt for better paying jobs, but try if you can. Apply for a similar job and ask for more money and benefits.
