Had a coworker put in a one week notice today. They got a job with a 40% pay bump and the company wants them to start in a week. So today came in a one week notice.
The boss is just losing it. “A week that’s it? I can’t let that happen!” I said “well if you were going to fire them would you give them any notice?” ….silence.
I politely told them that if they dont be professional the person will just quit and be done today. If ya want a week to train and learn some of their responsibilities just let it go.
And here I am waiting in my office for the boss to collect themselves and then in a few hours have a meltdown about it again.
