I’ve seen multiple things floating around of “don’t go into work” “walk out” that’s not possible for the average person. What IS possible is the idea of putting a halt on buying things for a few days.
We can organize people buying groceries/gas a bit earlier way easier than not working. I’m fact it’s probably worse for companies than just not working, because then they’re paying employees while making no profit. They’ll be pissed. Preferably strike across the board but specifically against large corporations, if you really need something find a small business.
I’ve been seeing posts to not buy anything from July 1-5, along with wearing black on the 4th. I don’t know how doable that is but it’s an idea. Something has to give, and one United effort just for a couple days is currently the best hope. Even conservatives agree gas prices are outrageous, we can reach common ground here.
It’s not violent, it doesn’t require leaving safety, you can’t be arrested for waiting to buy groceries. This is the safest option I’ve seen and almost anyone can participate by changing their shopping schedule.
It may not fix anything, but money talks and it’s a clear message. This isn’t the best formatted post but I don’t care that much it just needs to reach people. I don’t want karma, by all means repost this and take full credit I don’t care I just need something to change and this is the best sub for the message to get around.
