A Christmas story.

A while back we had a boss that was always complaing that they weren't making enough money, even though they were always decked out in expensive clothes, had an electric car (doing their part for the planet you know) a nice home and other luxuries the employees couldn't afford. We were making barely above minimum wage and were struggling to pay bills. They would come by once or maybe twice a week to look around and complain about things we weren't doing right. One Christmas after apologizing again for not being able to give us more money (this was not a new story and was going on for years even before I worked there) they gave us all a $5 bottle of wine…there were probably 8 of us including cleaning staff. One Christmas after apologizing again for not being able to give us more money (this was not a new story and was going on for years even before I worked there) they gave us all a $5 bottle of wine…there were probably 8 of us including cleaning staff. Later on I was talking to my boss about random stuff and they told me, probably without thinking, that ONE of the presents they bought their kid, who was probably about 10 yrs old, was a $600 pedigree cat.
