It's almost as if the free market isn't that efficient at changing to meet reduced demand in offices and increased demand in housing. It's almost as if they're asking to force workers back to offices, instead of being able to pull themselves by their own bootstraps and turn their buildings into apartments. Why take that risk and do the hard work when you can just threaten to default and destroy the economy if you don't get your way?!
They are making arguments for government intervention, not against it.
