A small victory for the working folks.

Valued Team As we set out to plan our FY23 budget, we had to consider many factors due to the state of our current world. Inflation is at a forty-year high.  Labor shortages are contributing to problems in service delivery, shortages in supply, and rising costs of many critical items.     At Company name we value our employees, current and future. Valued Team

As we set out to plan our FY23 budget, we had to consider many factors due to the state of our current world. Inflation is at a forty-year high.  Labor shortages are contributing to problems in service delivery, shortages in supply, and rising costs of many critical items.

At Company name we value our employees, current and future. We wish to have a comprehensive and high-quality delivery of service to our community.  We simply cannot do that without being able to retain you all and hire great teammates to work alongside you.  As we approach the budget this year, we know we will have to plan for increases in many categories and none were more important to us than you, our employees.

In recognition of this, we asked Human Resources and MassPay to study competitive rates across similar industries. We put together a proposal based on that research and the Board of Directors unanimously approved an increase set on a sliding percentage scale.  The scale is based on wages, where our employees with lower salary receive larger raise percentages. The percentage increase decreases as we go up the pay scale. This has resulted in a fair and equitable increase for everyone within our available budget constraints.

Every single employee at Company name will receive an increase larger than the average increase given over the last several years.

Retro to May 2, 2022 (paycheck dated May 19, 2022) you will see an increase. The amount is being communicated to you via a letter sent to your home from me. Also, supervisors will be notified today by Human Resources and will be free to communicate as well.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact Michele Stasiak in the Human Resources office.

Thank you all for your continued efforts at Company name it means the world to so many, especially me.

Best,
Corey

I was the lowest paid employee @ 15.50/hour and I got a 20% raise paid retroactively. Everyone in the company got a raise but those who make more got a lower percentage. I now make 18.60 just because my company decided the employees were the most important resource. While the highest paid employees got a smaller percentage their raise was based off higher numbers so they probably didn't do too bad for their raise. I work for a homeless shelter and this is the largest single raise I have gotten in my life. I am in Massachusetts where the minimum wage will be 15/hour next year I believe. This is also one of the most expensive places to live in the country besides New York City and a couple counties in California. It's just nice to see that lowest people on the totem pole got the highest percentage for this company wide pay increase. Trust me, if I won the power ball I would not be working but things like this make it a little easier to get up and go to work. I hope this gives some of you hope that the pay situation is slowly improving and that us millennials and younger generations might not have to work for the literal rest of our lives.
