About quitting healthcare

I've been educated as an occupational therapist and have been working as one for three years now. The things about the job that bother me the most are: – The 'you don't work this job for the money, you work this job because you are a good person that wants to help'-argument. Wanting to help others & wanting to receive an honest salary are not mutually exclusive. I've noticed people that are into teaching are struggling with the same stereotypes. – The fact that my bosses have this friend-mode that they use to get close to their employees. I've been educated as an occupational therapist and have been working as one for three years now. The things about the job that bother me the most are:
– The 'you don't work this job for the money, you work this job because you are a good person that wants to help'-argument. Wanting to help others & wanting to receive an honest salary are not mutually exclusive. I've noticed people that are into teaching are struggling with the same stereotypes.
– The fact that my bosses have this friend-mode that they use to get close to their employees. Then, when the yearly discussion about pay-raise comes up: they use their built-up friend-like relations to guilt trip you into taking a minimum raise.
– The prospect that health care is going to become increasingly more stressful in the next 30 years.
– Feeling like you are always short on time (and I didn't even work a 40+ hour week).

I'm seriously contemplating leaving my line of work even though I do like the work itself (7/10 due to my beloved patients). I just want to be appreciated with a salary that reflects the stress and responsibility that comes with the job. Verbally they will express how much they appreciate and respect the work you put in, until you ask them to keep their money where their mouth is. That is when they start acting like crippled dogs, the company really doesn't have money for that (they are saying before they drive off in their Tesla)…

Rant out.
