I've been in a certain industry for many years, then during Covid times felt that I was not moving forward, so I transferred to another very similar one. At first, it was great, new, and exciting, with a significant salary hike. Then things started going downhill first. While being as vague as possible here are some examples of things that happened
1- Got admonished in front of the entire executive management three months into my contract for a mistake made by someone else about a process I had no experience doing
2- Any new or nontraditional idea I suggested was immediately turned down. It's important to note that I am the youngest head of department and one of the only women, the executives are all much older and used to using certain methods. I did not fight back and used their methods. They did not give the result they wanted. I was then blamed for their failures
3- My direct boss has actively bad-mouthed me to my subordinate. My entire team is male and older than me. It took a while to get their respect. About a year into my new job, she hired someone new who would be directly under me. I thought it was to help as my department was very understaffed. Instead, his presence has been used to undermine me at all times. I have heard my boss actively tell him that she doesn't trust me and for him to go straight to them for decisions.
I could go on. Either way, I got my dream job this week! It's fully remote, includes travel, I get to work with a smaller younger team and I get paid more. I just had another call from my boss complaining about something we have proof she approved. She threatened to report me for insubordination when I mentioned I had an approved memo from her!
I cannot wait to give my exit letter to her!!
P.s: This is not Europe or the US
